Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said he will not use his emergency powers to reconvene senators for an impeachment trial, meaning the Senate won't return from recess until Jan. 19, one day before President-elect Joe Biden's inauguration. "There is simply no chance that a fair or serious trial could conclude" before Biden is sworn in, McConnell said. He also stated he doesn't know yet how he'll vote yet on Trump's impeachment. "I have not made a final decision on how I will vote and I intend to listen to the legal arguments when they are presented to the Senate," McConnell said.
